Deborah Marie Turman, 53, of Elba, New York, passed away on 12 January 2011 in Ormond Beach, FL.
Deborah was born 26 December 1957 in Rochester, New York, to Daniel and Patricia (Cunningham) Campbell. She was 1976 graduate from Elba Central School, Elba, New York.
Deborah was a 20 year Navy veteran who served during Operation Desert Storm. Over the course of her career she was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Medal with Gold Star in lieu of second award, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal with Gold Star, three Joint Meritorious Unit Commendations, four Navy Good Conduct medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Navy/Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, along with numerous citations and letters of achievement. She also completed overseas tours in Italy, Guam and Japan. Deborah retired from the US Navy in 1999.
Deborah is survived by her daughter, Nikki Turman; mother, Patricia Campbell; brothers Maury (Tammy) and Stephen (Diane) Campbell; sisters Monica (Stephen O’Dea) and Patricia Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Daniel (Big Dan) Campbell and her brother, Daniel (Danny boy) Campbell.
A private service will be held on 18 February at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Deborah’s name to the American Cancer Society.
