Donald Dee DeWitt, 90, died at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida, with his family members at his side on August 31, 2011.
Donald was born in Cooperstown, IL to Lewis C. and Lora DeWitt. He was the youngest of three boys. He joined the US Army after a year of law school. After his discharge from the US Army, he married and had three daughters Gayle, Donna, and Audrey. Donald loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He spent most of his life in the timber business in Illinois and Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lewis C and Lora DeWitt and his two brothers, Lester and Howard. He was loved and survived by his three daughters, Gayle Mataske of Dunnellon, Florida, Donna DeWitt of Inverness, Florida, and Audrey Vertin of Minooka, Illinois. He was loved and survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren from Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and Tennessee.
A Memorial Service was held in Inverness, Florida on September 3, 2011. Graveside services with full Military Honors were held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, Missouri, on September 12, 2011.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Don will be missed very much. He loved playing games and walking I got to play some games with him and got to eat with him. He really liked to joke around too. I was so glad that I got to meet him and spend some time with him. Love and Prayers Nancy
