Donald Healy, 61, of Largo, FL passed away late Thursday morning on August 15, 2013, 2013 at Bay Pines VA Healthcare Systems, Bay Pines, FL following complications with cancer.
Don was a Vietnam veteran who served his country as a radio and communications specialist in the early 1970s. Don also had a long battle with diabetes as a result of agent orange exposure while serving in Vietnam. He was born on June 8th, 1952 in Rockford, IL . He was the third, born of six boys and three girls, to Michael and Barbara Healy. Don lived much of his life in Rockford, and worked at Dixon Automatic Tool and the Ingersoll Milling Machine Company. He spent the last several years living in Largo, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Healy and his siblings, Tim and Joanne Healy. Survivors include his mother, Barbara; his four brothers, Michael, James, John and Greg Healy; and two sisters, Patricia Westbrook and Cathy Stanphill.
Graveside services with military honors will be presented at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM where he will be laid to rest.
