Donald J. McDermott, 79, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Brookside Hospice House.
Born in Taylor, PA, he moved here from Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1990. Don retired from the Pinellas County School District. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of Heritage United Methodist Church. Don enjoyed photography and his computer.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Jayne; son, David; three daughters, Dawn, Lisa, and Janine; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

We have always appreciated having you and Don as our next door neighbors. He was friendly and kind to us. We liked having him on the board also. We felt as though he would make good decisions on our behalf. He will be missed.
