Doris was born on June 19, 1918 in Buffalo, NY. She moved to Jamestown, NY in 1922 and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1935. After high school, she graduated from Jamestown Business School and attended Buffalo State Teachers' College.
Doris worked for the Department of the Navy from 1941-1945. She began working in 1945 for the U.S Social Security Administration and retired in 1978. She has been a local resident since 1978. Doris married Fenton E. Johnson on November 16, 1947.
She had two children, Roger and Bret. She had many hobbies including church activities, crafting, knitting, cooking, baking and taking care of her family. She attended First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks and Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jamestown, NY. Doris was a member of Super 60’s at FBCIR, National Association of Federal Employees, Buffalo New York and Vicinity Club and Pinellas County Home Extension.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend. Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony J. and Cora Ruesch and a son, Bret Johnson. She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 65 years, Fenton E. Johnson of Largo, Florida; a son, Roger Johnson and his wife, Donna of Largo, Florida; a sister, Betty Larson of Jamestown, NY, and a host of relatives, friends and fellow church members.

We are so sorry for the recent loss of your beloved wife and mother, Doris. Our prayers are with you in the days ahead. We are sure that you were a blessing to her by your continued helpfulness and care for her over the past several years. She is now with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. May the thought of her “homecoming” bring peace to your hearts.
