Edmon Quarterman, 80, of Largo, FL passed away on April 6, 2012 at Largo Rehab and Spa.  Mr. Quarterman was born on December 25, 1931 and a native of Crawfordville, Florida. He served the Korean War in the US Army and obtained the rank of SGT.  Mr. Quarterman was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and worked for Pinellas County Government as a wastewater technician. 

Mr. Quarterman loved to work on cars and worked at Tyrone Volkswagon and Carlisle Lincoln Motors as a mechanic.  He owned his own lawn and landscape services.  He loved plants and built his own greenhouse in the backyard.  As a child,  Mr. Quarterman enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Preceded in death by his parents: John Henry and Noretha Quarterman; a daughter, Teresa Elaine Quarterman; his brothers: John Henry “Jeff” Quarterman Jr.; George Quarterman and LeRoy Quarterman; and a grandchild, Angel Swinton.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Georgia of Largo, Florida; his children: Lowell Frank Quarterman (Renee) Quarterman; Nicole Quarterman (John), Clarence Quarterman (Altamesa); Andrea Renee Quarterman (Andrew), Valerie S. Higdon, Terry O. Higdon and Albert Lee Higdon; his grandchildren: Devin Quarterman, Deonta Henry, Ebony Chisom, Keandre Chisom; Shakela Swinton, Dominic Quarterman, Jasmine Quarterman, Johnetta Swinton, Johnesia Swinton, Shatia Swinton, Johniya Swinton, Clarence Quarterman Jr., Elyse Quarterman, Lauren Quarterman, Michael Jackson, Trenisha Payne, Tyeisha Wright, Tykiea Wright;  Moses Lamont Higdon; and his great grandchildren Alyana Lodges, Jalani Quarterman, Dormariana Golden, Michelle Jackson, Shonte Jackson, Mikesha Jackson, Mikeya Jackson, and Myki'el Jackson.

The family will receive friends at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, April 13, 2012, from 6 PM until 8 PM. Funeral service is scheduled for 1 PM, Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 13255 118th Street North, Largo, FL 33770 with Pastor Willie D. McClendon to officiate. A reception (repass) at the church will follow the funeral service. Graveside service will be at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513 on Monday,  April 16, 2012 at 2:30 PM with Marion County Military Honor Guard to officiate.
