” I’m Spending Christmas with Jesus this Year”
I see the countless Christmas trees
around the world below
with tiny lights like heaven stars
reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular
Please wipe away that tear
For I’m spending Christmas
with Jesus Christ this year
I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear
O’, the sounds of music can’t compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
For I have no words to tell you
of the joy their voices bring
for it’s beyond description
to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart.
but, through our memories so dear..
We’re never far apart.
I can’t tell you of the splendor
or the peace here in this place
Can you just imagine Christmas
with Our Savior…….face-to-face.
I’ll ask Him to light your spirit
As I tell Him of your Love.
Then I’ll pray for ’One another’
As you lift your eyes above.
So please let your heart be joyful
and let your spirit sing
for I’m spending Christmas in heaven
and I’m walking with the King.
Dear Mrs. Born and family –
I met your husband and father on several occasions when I was principal of Clearwater Comprehensive Junior High School where Mrs. Born was Food Services Instructor and chair of the vocational education department.
Mr. Born was a person who was interested in providing for his family.
He served his country with great distinction in two wars. All of us are indebted to him and his fellow soldiers for their service.
With sympathy,
Dr. and Mrs. Robert J. Safransky
Dad, may you rest in peace. Thank you for all your sacrifices. I will remember the good times.
Eddy we had a wonderful life together and have memories that fill me. Our life together has exceeded all my expectations. I have told you this often. All my love! Gerrie
I am grateful to have had the honor of being your daughter-in-law. Although the time we spent together was short, I know that you were a remarkable
man. I wish that I had the opportunity to get to know you better.
Dad,thanks for the great life and upbringing. You showed us the world, gave me a love for sailing, showed me how to work an honest day and do a job to the best of my ability. Even in your passing I learned a great lesson. Today I can honestly say that I love you for who you are…the extraordinary and the ordinary. I missed you in life and I am going to miss you in your passing. Love, Kevin
Ed, It was too brief a meeting but so important. Your son, Kevin, has married our only daughter, Nicole and a more attractive and happy couple they could not be. It was a pleasure and a privilege to meet you and Gerrie, to spend some time together and to come to know you, then and afterward. Kevin has made us very proud and many of his qualities are clearly derived from you and, as well from Gerrie. You in turn should both be very proud of him. We believe he has inherited an intelligence, dedication and work ethic that is derived from his parents. You were quite modest about your military career. This Navy vet is impressed. And also impressive are your intellectual accomplishments, language, literature and art. and no inconsiderable charm. We are so glad that we had at least a brief opportunity to spend some time together. Mary and Peter

I have many memories of Ed – some go back at least 45 years! One realy vivid New Years Eve “sleep over”. A good story teller and an interesting man to listen to. Gerrie, you know you are in my thoughts.
Mrs. Born,

Eddy – If anybody ever wished for the perfect older brother – you qualified.
You were always there for me. You encouraged or gave advice when necessary and at age twenty you picked out my future husband Tom, your friend and fraternity brother.
After our marriages, we still had that bond that was established at a very young age. We phoned and talked for many hours into the night sharing ideas and were never too tired or lost for words.
You made an effort to be present at Cristine’s and my graduation from lawschool.
You came all the way from Floriday to New York to attend Cristine’s recital in Carnegie Hall. You were her hero.
My children loved and admired their uncle Eddy; they were so proud of your achievements.
You had a keen sense of honor, duty and family.
Your intelligence and yearning for knowledge was evident even while we were growing up and you never hesitated to instill that desire in me.
You gave so much and expected nothing.
Eddy, thank you for having been a loving brother and my best friend.
our prayers are with the family hoping that they will always remember all the good times with ed
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho? from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
– Alfred Lord Tennyson
All return from River to Sea; most don?t live as boldly, learn as deeply, travel as widely, inspire as many, nor accomplish as much as you have with their time spent before returning.
From this Edward to the Original: Godspeed, a favorable tide, and fair winds?
Many’s the night, growing up, that I would hear the phone ring at 11pm or later and I knew it was one of the Edwards – either my brother Ed or my Uncle Ed – calling to talk with my mother. Either way, she would be on the phone for hours, laughing, talking, and enjoying the humor and wit of those most mercurial members of our family.
Uncle Ed, you probably never realized how great an impact you had on me and my immediate family, but not a day went by when your name wasn’t mentioned fondly in connection with some recollection or recounting of your travels and incredible life’s journey. I grew up admiring your daring, your bravery, and your courage, and I will always remember you as a man whose principles were something to which to aspire.
Thank you for being such a big part of my life, though you probably never realized it. I love you and I miss you. Godspeed on your continued travels and my wishes for peace to the Borns who carry on.
Je présente mes compliments de condoléance à la famille Born et la famille Martins. Beaucoup de courage dans ses temps difficiles.
I was very sad to hear of Uncle Eddie’s passing. He truly lived his life to the fullest and is an inspiration to all. My thoughts, prayers and best wishes are extended to his entire family.
May he rest in peace in a Nation that honors their Veterans.
