Edward L. Brannon, Jr., 60, of Tampa, passed away on December 24, 2013 at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital.

“Jr.” was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Virginia, his three children, and three grandchildren, Kyana, Nathalia, and Yadira. He is also grieved by his mother, Dorothy; and three sisters, Lora, Leila, and Karen back in his beloved Bayous of Louisiana.

Born in New Orleans, LA, he prided himself on being a Cajun Bayou Boy thru-&-thru. He joined the US Army in 1971 at the age of 18. While serving in Vietnam, he was unaware he started to slowly develop Multiple Sclerosis. After his discharge, he met and married Virginia. His daughter, Nina was born in 1977, his sons, Edward “TJ” in 1981, and Khris in 1984. After his diagnosis, he always held his head high and kept a positive spirit. He was a sportsman and he enjoyed Westerns and Musicals.

A Mass for the Repose of His Soul will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Kazimierz Domek, 7001 12th Avenue South, Tampa 33619. Interment with military honors will follow at 12:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
