Veterans Funeral Care Edward Claverie

Edward T. Claverie, 82, of Tampa, FL funeral service is 1:30 PM, Friday, July 1, 2011 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 with the Marion County Military Honor Guard and Captain Art Nave, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the Sumterville 1st Assembly of God Church, 2087 East County Road 470 East, (Exit # 321 of Interstate 75 North), Sumterville, Florida 33585 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

A lifelong Tampa, Florida native, Edward was born on November 24, 1928 and passed away on June 23, 2011 at the Baldomero Lopez VA State Nursing Home, Land of Lakes, Florida. After being discharged from the US Army, he served as a police officer for 12 years for the City of Tampa and helped establish the FOP.  Edward then worked for and retired from Continental Can Company as a mechanic and served our nation during the Korean War Era in the US Army and obtained the rank of Corporal. During his military service, he was awarded the Japan Occupation Medal, Korean Service Medal and four (4) Bronze Service Stars.
 
Preceded in death by his wife, Kinu who is already buried at Florida National Cemetery; Edward is survived by his loving family: nephews, Tommy Cock of Spring Hill, Florida and Tom Cock III of Tampa, Florida; his nieces, Deborah Cock of Tampa, FL.; Rene Alsup of McGregor, Texas; Rise Wright of Tucson, Arizona; Judy C. Kucko of Atlanta, Georgia and Sonja Culbreath of Dade City, Florida .

The family requests, that those who wish, to please send a donation to the Baldermo Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home or Lifepath Hospice of Tampa, Florida in the memory of Edward T. Claverie.
