Veterans Funeral Care Elizabeth Mirlenbrink

Elizabeth Ann Mirlenbrink, 66, of Dunedin, FL passed away on Friday, October 12, 2007 under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Born on June 23, 1941 in Lynn, MA to Leo and Ellen McMahon, “Betty” was one of five children. Her family moved to Cincinnati, OH in 1951. Betty attended Mother of Mercy High School and the University of Cinnati where she meet her husband Robert J. Mirlenbrink. The two married on September 25, 1965. The couple had five children. Betty worked as a teacher all her adult life. She taught in various grade levels, including Pre-K through second grade. Betty also taught CCD classes to high school students with special needs. She left each child with an indelible sence of wonder, excitement and confidence for learning. During the winter of 1974, the family, now including their daughter, Jamie Lynn, moved to “Delightful Dunedin”. Betty was a active member of the Dunedin Band Boosters and the Dunedin Highland Games Committee. While her children, now totaling five, were preforming with the Scottish bands in Dunedin, performing a half time show, competing at the Scottish Highland Games or just practicing, Betty could be found watching the show and providing the never ending encouragement. When asked what one would remember most about Betty, the remark is often given: “Her Spunk, her desire to help, her generosity and lastly her love and loyalty for her family”. Betty is survived by her five children: Jamie Lynn Carlson; Sarah Jane Bombly; Robert Leo Mirlenbrink; Brian Kurt Milrenbrink; Nicole Elizabeth Boros; her five -in-laws: Richard Carlson; Christopher Bombly; Karen Mirlenbrink; Mary Milenbrink; Jim Boros; her three grandchildren: Brett Richard Carlson; Zachary Christopher Bombly; Hannah Elizabeth Bombly; her three sisters: Barbara Zimmerman; Jean McMahon; Melissa Sampson and lastly, her pug Sir Chiefton Rigsby Mirlenbrink.
