Gayle "Pops" Gist, 78, of Ocala, FL, died unexpededly Thursday, November 5, 2009 under Hospice care at his daugheters home.
Gayle was born Febuary 1, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky. He has been a resident of Ocala since 1995. He was also a resident of Kinston, Alabama. for the last 5 years.
Gayle retired from the Air Force Military Police as a Staff Sergeant in 1970. He was also retired from State of Florida Inspection. He was Town Marshall of Elnora, Indiana, also a County Commissioner in Kinston Alabama. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved riding Harley Davidsons.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Hamilton. He was survived by his wife, Paula Gist of Ocala. His daughter Beverly (Steve) Beasock of Ocala, stepdaughters Mary and Ricki Williams both of Ocala, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren,and 1 great great grandchild.
Services will be held at Bushnell Veterans Cemetary by Veterans Funeral Care on Friday Novemeber 13, 2009 at 12:30 pm in Bushnell Fl.
