George Albert Gray, 79 of Largo, Florida funeral service is 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the 1st Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, 12685 Ulmerton Road with Pastor Jim Black, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until service time. Full military honors will be at 4:00 PM, Sunday at the 1st Baptist Church of Indian Rocks Cemetery directly behind the church property.
A native of Double Springs, Alabama and a local resident of the Largo, Florida area since 1967, when he moved here from Valparaiso, Indiana, George was a cable splicer, a US Army Veteran and attended 1st Baptist Church of Indian Rocks with his wife.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Hattie (Marable) Gray and a son, Burke Gray. Survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Sarah Gray of Largo, Florida; two sons, Brent Leon Gray of Cookeville, Tennessee and Barron David Gray of Largo, Florida; four grandchildren: Kadie McClure, Christopher Gray, Michael Gray and Cody Walker and a great grandchild, Peyton McClure.

Sarah, Barron, Brent and family, we are soo very sorry for your loss. Heaven must have needed a great man and they definitley got one. George was a very special person and I always enjoyed his company, never bitter or mad about anything. He will be missed but I take comfort in knowing that I will see him again in heaven. Rest in peace George, you earned and deserve it our dear friend.
