George “Allen” Clouse, 75, of Belleair Bluffs, FL passed away Monday morning, May 12, 2008 at Bay Pines VA Health Care System after a lengthy illness.

Allen was born on February 9, 1933 in Jersey City, NJ son of the late E. Rocella Jobes and James Myron Clouse. A graduate of Springfield High School, OH, he was offered a football scholarship at the University of Tennessee. However, he was drafted into the US Army before he could attend. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Airborne Division and earned the rank of Private First Class before being honorably discharged. He retired from management with International Harvester in Springfield and relocated to the west coast of Florida where he owned and operated “Allen’s Boat Cleaning and Repair.”

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Joyce nee Tanner; step-father, Clarence “Hank” Jobes; and step-sister, Sandra Lee Jobes. Survivors include his wife of seven years, Barbel B.; a daughter, Tammy and Randy Reehl of New Port Richey, FL; two step-daughters, Eleanor and Suzann; a brother, Jack Myron of Virginia Beach, VA; two sister, Jimmie Lou Kowalczyk of Springfield, OH and Joan Elaine Trego of Chula Vista, CA; a step-brother, John and Jan Jobes of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; a step-sister, Janice and Art Summers of Concord, NC; two grandsons, Christopher Bryan and Jason Matthew and Tracy; and four great granddaughters, Abby, Alivia, Arial and Amber.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Hospice Foundation of the Florida Suncoast.
