George Jerry Goodson, M/SGT-USAF-Retired age 62, of Stewartville, died at his residence, Monday, May 18, 2009. The funeral is scheduled for 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Tallassahatchie 1st Baptist Church, 3343 Tallassahatchie Road, Alpine, AL 35014. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until noon at the church. The burial will take place the 1st week on June 2009 at the Alabama National Cemetery, 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, AL 35115. Full military honors will be given at the conclusion of the service by the United States Air Force Honor Guard from Maxwell AFB. AL. Preceded in death by his parents, mother-Erline Goodson & father W.D. Goodson. Survived by wife, Jane Goodson, stepdaughter-Brandy Whaley & husband Scott of Chelsea; daughter-Angie Watson & Kenny of Lakeland, GA; 5 grandchildren- Kendall & Aiden Whaley; Shawn, K.C., & Chess Watson; 3 brothers-Dowell Goodson of Sycamore, Earl Goodson & wife Wanda of Gatlinburg, & Jerrell Goodson & wife Donna of Weogufka. 3 sisters- Emma Jo Patterson of Talladega, Melonea Miller & husband Mike of Sycamore, Patricia Carden of Sylacauga and Mack Carden. He served our nation for 27 years in the United States Air Force.
