Gerald “Jerry” Morgan Grimes, 80, of Clearwater, FL, passed away, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Bay Pines VA Health Care Systems Hospital.
A celebration of life and military service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, May 20th at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Jerry was born August 5, 1933 in Rochester, NY to Gerald and Anna (Pfeifer) Grimes. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester. On October 8, 1953, he married Eunice Mary Allen in Rochester. Later he married the former Diane Romaine Terry on August 28, 1983 in St. Petersburg, FL. He was a dedicated father who raised children from his two families into adulthood for over 40 years. He also helped out with his brother’s children.
Jerry had a dynamic employment life. He was a mechanic in the US Army during the Korean War. He also worked as a house painter, insurance salesman, electronics technician, Teflon worker, piano maker, moving manager and professional driver. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved horse racing, hockey, and football.
Jerry is survived by his wife Diane; three sons, Terry William Grimes, Kerry Morgan Grimes and Michael Morgan Grimes; brother, Terrence; sister, Patricia; four grandchildren, Alexandria, Bryan, Paul, and Adam Grimes; and two great grandchildren, Kali and Natalia. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Eunice in 1986 and his son, Gary in 2013.

Jerry was a man full of laughter and joy! We were so blessed when he came into our lives and married my godmother Diane I know he is toasting and dancing with my mother Lynn and enjoying the beauty! Wishing Aunt Dianr, Terry, Kerry and Michael peace and comfort in their memories.
