Gerald S. Ghertler, 81, of Palm Harbor, FL died at his residence in Palm Harbor, FL on January 26, 2011 from natural causes.
A native of Waterbury, CT and a local resident since 1986, when he moved here from Ridgewood, CT; he was a retired manager for IBM Computers; a US Army Military Police Officer during the Korean War Era and of the Jewish faith.
He is survived by his loving family: a wife, Susan Ghertler of Palm Harbor, FL; four sons, Randolph Ghertler of Annapolis, MD; Jonathan Ghertler; Gary Ghertler of Cape Cod, MA and Geoffrey Ghertler Natick, MA and a sister, Rosalie Spector of Lake Worth, FL.
Graveside services are 9:15 AM, Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the Bay Pines VA National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida 33744 with Captain Bud Burkett and the Veterans of Foreign War Honor Guard, to officiate.

I wish we could attend, and be with you at the service, but I have 2 root cancal scheduled at 9:30 and Dick has dementia, so I can’t let him drive that distance withou me.
