Gerald Thomas Leiter, 68, of Tampa, FL died on May 3, 2008 at the Melech Hospice House, Temple Terrace, FL of natural causes. A native of New York, NY and a local resident since 1968, when he moved here from New York City, NY; he was a chef; a catholic, and a US Army Veteran serving our nation form 1957 thru 1959. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rose Leiter and a sister, Jodie Koenig, Jerry is survived by his wife, Elaine of Tampa, FL; two daughters; Lisa Lockhart and her husband, John and Wendi Mc Aleese and her husband, Jeff, both of Tampa, FL; two brothers, Russell Leiter and his wife, Susan of Washingtonville, NY and Ray Leiter and his wife, Jennie of East Stroudsburg, PA; a brother-in law, Jack Koenig of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren: Jordan Lockhart, Hayley and Dylan McAleese, all of Tampa, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services 10:30 AM, Tuesday Morning, May 6, 2008 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 4311 West San Miguel Street, Tampa, FL 33629 with Father Dennis Kezar officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday Morning from 10:00 AM until service time with a gathering to follow directly after the service. Graveside services are scheduled at 2:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with full military honors by the Marion County Military Honor Guard.
