Gerry was a wonderful person and all around great guy. He always had a submarine story to tell. He honored us by being our son’s, Michael, adopted grandpa or “Opa”. Even though he is with his lovely wife, Anne, and no longer in pain, he will be truly missed. To the family: you are in our thoughts and prayers and please take comfort in knowing that he is a better place and humoring God with his stories!
In 1977 Gerhard visited Germany to search for his German roots and found his cousin Fritz with his family. From this time, we had close contact and enjoyed that very much. Gerhard was – although he lived far away – closer to us than some of our family members in Germany, and he and Fritz seemed to be more brothers than cousins. We will miss him a lot and hope, that he will find peace and joy near God together with his beloved wife Ann. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children and their families.
Gerry and I worked together for several years. I found him to always be a warm, friendly and compasionate colleague. Though we have drifted our seperate ways in recent years, I remember our times together very fondly. I send my most sincere condolences to his surviving family members. May he rest in peace.
Betty and I worked with Gerry at ECIE-SystemsRaytheon for many years. We enjoyed
working with him and will miss visiting with him
at the CMD lunches. He was a wonderfully positive man and will be missed.
May God bless his family.
Gerry and I worked together on a number of propsals and new business pursuits at ECIE-SystemsRaytheon. He was always a gentleman and great to work with. He will be missed. May God bring comfort to his family.
I worked with Gerry at the Communication Manufacturing Division of E-SystemsRatheon for more than 10 years. I was the head of the Engineering Department and Gerry was the Director of International Marketing. It was common when I arrived at work to find him speaking on the phone with a European custpomer in German, which he spoke fluently. Over the years I provided technical support on marketing trips to Scandinavia and Germany. He was the ultimate straight shooter, a gentleman and a great traveling companion. After I retired in 1995 we connected on the internet. Gerry was an endless source of interesting e-mail material because of his extensive network of friends around the world: former business contacts, his submariner buddies, former co-workers and many others. I’ll miss him and his e-mails.
I was Jerry’s secretary at CMD for many years. What a true gentlemangentle man he was. I was hoping to see him at the CMD Luncheon to show him I was still wearing the snowflake pin he brought home to me from one of his many overseas trips. I also never let him forget that his daughter Kim married an Irish man. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful family. God Bless!!
Gerry always had a big smile, a kind word and great stories to share with us at ECIE-Systems. May God be with the family.
I met Gerry through my husband, Thom Kyle, that worked with Gerry at E-Systems. I fondly remember his great stories using his German accent. Condolences to his surviving family.
Our sympathy to Gerry’s family, friends, and loved ones. We are grateful for Gerry’s service to our country aboard United States submarines. As a “Brother of the Phin” we say to Gerry, “Sailor rest your oars, we have the watch. Rest in peace.” — Ray Fritz, National Chaplain United States Submarine Veterans, USSVI.
We’ll miss this wonderful humorous man and his great love to his family. We are very thankful that he found the “German Bultmann’s” 35 years ago and that we have had all the time to stay in touch with him since then. We’ll keep him in our hearts forever.
