Grady Junior Burks, 82, of Tampa, FL passed away at his residence on August 5, 2008 from natural causes. A native of Savannah, TN and a local resident since 1951, when he moved here from Gaston, AL; he was a stucco installer in the construction field and a Baptist; a member of the American Legion. During World War II, he was a Seaman 2/Class and was awarded a Victory Medal and a Asian Pacific Ribbon serving aboard the USS Samaritan. He loved to play his guitar and he loved his family very much. He is survived by his ex-wife, Elizabeth Burks of Tampa, FL; a son, Roger Burks and his wife, Linda of Tampa, FL; a daughter, Rachel Hanley and her husband, John of Cedar Key, FL; five brothers, John Burks, Raleigh Burks, William Burks, J.W. Burks, Steve Burks; five sisters: Inez Burks, Kathy Burks, Judy Burks, Frank Lee Burks and Cathy Burks, all of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside services are 2:30 PM, Monday, August 11, 2008 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513 with the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard, officiating.
