Henry Lee Hill, 55, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on April 10, 2008 at Lake City VA Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Gainesville, the son of the late Turley and Mamie Samuels Hill, Sr. As a graduate of Gainesville High School, he became a jet mechanic for the US Navy. He served from 1972-1980. He was a member of Mt. Zion AME Church in Virginia Beach and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed working on old cars and had other hobbies.
He was preceded in death by Emily Hill and Walter Hill. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Rose M. Hill of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, LaTarsha Hill-Mason of Baltimore, MD; five brothers, Johnnie L. Loraine Samuels of St. Augustine, FL, Thurman Hill, James Hill Cloria of Georgia, Turley Angie Hill, Jr., Harry Tracy Hill, and Jackson Hill of Gainesville; a sister, Sharon Hill Henry Jeffery of Gainesville; and three grandchildren, Steven, LaTavias, and RoMyia Mason of Baltimore, MD along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

I am sorry for you loss. Mr. Hill was quiet a character and was loved by his VA family.
I am sorry for your loss, but we all know Mr. Hill is in a well deserved place. He was loved by his extended family at the Lake City VA. He is a person who’s personality will never be forgotten.
