Horace Ellsworth, Jr. [actually the III], 79, went home to be with Jesus on December 16, 2013, from the Bay Pines VA Hospice Unit after a short illness with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Marilyn; his beloved children: Susan Chambers of Gainesville, FL, Richard Ellsworth Sr., of Bonita Springs, FL, Laura Ellsworth of Temple Terrace, FL and Dean Putnam, Jr., of Keystone Heights, FL. and is predeceased by his youngest son, Timothy of Keystone Heights, Fl. in 1982. He has six beloved grandchildren: Ricky, Jr., and Tim Ellsworth of Ft. Myers, FL.; Rachel Roderick, Rebecca, Samantha and Courtney Putnam of Keystone Heights, FL. and three great grandchildren, Randi Leigh Ellsworth, Mikaela Stone, and Bradley Roderick.
He was a Korean War Navy veteran; an ordained Baptist & Pentecostal preacher for over 50 years, founder of http://lookinguntojesusministriesuninco.weebly.com/, both he and his wife were Alachua County Deputy Sheriffs, and he was a retired security guard from Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville.
There will be a Celebration of Life for him on Saturday, January 4th, 2014, at 1 PM in the sanctuary of Trinity Church of the Nazarene 1000-55th St. South, Gulfport, FL 33707. We will be honored if family, friends and all acquaintances attend. In lieu of Flowers, Monetary Donations may be made to this our home church in his name. God bless all who loved him.
