Veterans Funeral Care Howard Canada

Howard D. Canada, 76, Tampa, FL passed away on December 26. He was born on January 20, 1933 in Oolitic, IN to Dalt and Elizabeth Canada. Howard moved to Tampa in 1963 and had been local resident since. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a former member of the American Legion. During the Korean War, Howard served aboard the USS Toledo, a US Navy Ship that shelled the coast of Korea three different occasions.

Howard is survived by his beloved family: sons, Edward Canada from Michigan and James “Jamie” Canada from South Carolina; daughter, Brenda Latimer from New York; brothers, Conley Canada and his wife, Mary of Indianapolis, IN and Ralph Canada of Tampa, FL; numerous loving nieces and nephews and their families; and close friends.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 13515 US Highway 301 North, Thonotosassa, FL 33592 with Pastor Mike Grover, to officiate. The burial will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday afternoon at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513 with Full Military Honors by Captain Art Nave and the Marion County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening, December 29, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The featured picture is from left to right:  Ralph C. Canada-Howard D.
