James A Curwen Sr, 83, died September 13, 2010 at the Suncoast Hospice House Brookside, Palm Harbor, Fl after a short illness. Mr Curwen was born in Salem Ma. and was the younger of two sons. He graduated from Salem High School after serving in the US Navy during WWII
Before moving to Clearwater with his wife, Helen, he was in furniture sales . Soon after moving to Florida, Jim and Helen opened a bakery/yogurt shop (“The Sweet Ketch” ) which kept them busy for many years.
Mr. Curwen is survived by his wife Helen; two daughters: Hannah Lee Desjardins and her husband, John, and Tamara Walsh; and his son, James Jr. and his wife Carolyn .
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sam and Grace Desjardins He was preseded in death by his brother, Colonel Bertram Curwen, US Marine Corps, Retired, He is further survived by a niece and three nephews of Florida and North Carolina
And not to be overlooked, he is survived by his many friends at Tommy Duff’s and 690 Island Way

So sorry for your loss. I did not know your fatherhusbandgrandfather, but have heard such wonderful things about him. He will surely be missed by all of you. Hannah, we know how much you truly love him and we are thinking of you.

I will miss you here, but have solice in knowing that one day we will be together again, and rest assured, that the memories of you from your family and friends shall remain eternal.
