James E. Jobson, of Largo, Florida, departed this life on October 20, 2011.
James was born in Tampa, Florida in 1933, the second son in the Jobson family. He attended Tampa schools and was a star football player at Plant High School. At age seventeen, he joined the Marine Corps and served during the Korean Conflict following a family tradition of service to country.
A loving and devoted husband, he was married to Jean Abernathy until her death from a battle with breast cancer. He was later married to Margaret Carlton for forty-eight years before her death in February this year.
An unsurpassed father, Jim was and remains, a shining life example and left his daughters with memory after memory of tender, caring, loving, and humorous time spent together.
Jim loved the Lord and trusted God in every aspect of his life.
Jim participated in many sports and hobbies throughout his life. These included football, track, scuba diving, sky diving, wood working, model airplanes, kite building, and all types of puzzles.
He is survived by three loving daughters and their families. .Jim’s memorial service will be on November 12, 2011 at 2 pm, in the Chapel at Indian Rocks Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ASPCA in Jim’s name.
