JAMES FLOYD WATKINS, 82, of Lufkin, TX, was born to Leeta Crain and Cy Watkins on July 24, 1930 in Bartlesville, OK. He left his earthly home on January 29, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Delores Daniels. He is survived by two sons, Dennis of Tyler, TX and Nick and his wife, Evie of Austin, TX; four daughters, Robyn Cheri of California, Dawn Watkins and Heather Watkins of Austin, TX, Gail Keezer and husband, Wayne of Lindale, TX; business partner and longtime friend, Sarah Norris of Lufkin, TX; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two step brothers, Kenny Don and Lucky; and two stepsisters, Sharon and Dana.
James moved to Lufkin in 1979 as a Cosmetology Instructor for Richard and Joseph’s Beauty College. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 22-1/2 years of service. He was an electrician and had his own repair shop in Lindale. He was of the Catholic Faith and had last rites given by Fr. Raymundo Garcia at Memorial Hospital on January 29, 2013.
Graveside services with full military honors will be presented by the US Navy and VFW District 4 at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive.
