John Anthony Kingston, 90, passed away on September 17, 2013 in St. Petersburg, FL.
John was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 28, 1922. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Gallagher Kingston. Survived by his two daughters, Peggy (Michael) Brady and Kathy (Rick) Ragusan; five grandchildren, Colleen, Patrick, Christopher, Keith and Kaitlin; three great grandchildren, Brennan, Conor and Aidan Hayes; and his friend, Lorna Solidarios.
John served his country during World War II in the Army/Air force. After the war he completed his Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Finance from the City College of New York. He was successful in his career in finance and factoring. Upon his retirement he moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and embarked on his second career volunteering. He was part of the American Legion Honor Guard, Ushered for Blessed Sacrament Church, Governor for his condo association and a member of the Second Time Arounders Marching Band.
Funeral Mass with be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at 12:45 PM at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd.
In lieu of flowers donations be made to Wounded Warriors Poject.
