I worked with Jack for many years at All State Homes, He was dedicated to his work, he mostly
disregarded the proper ways to follow guidelines, did it his way and most of the time it worked!! enoyed “bossing”
the sub-contractors and workers, extremely knowledgeable in many phases of building homes, creating machinery, etc… He was a legend to many..
Now he can store up all of tools and show them how to do it up North at the Pearly Gates..
RIP Jack..
I was best friends with his younger brother David,
John did some car painting for me from time to time and was always so friendly. I have been trying to find out where David has been for years and was sorry to learn about John.
I gre up across the street from Jack, and I hung out with his grandsons when they visited their father who lived next door. Jack was kind of a lynch pin for our street, as several families and houses were connected via the Elsners. I grew up in a house that his family built, one I wish to own myself one day. Jack was the nicest grump I’ve ever known, or was he just a grumpy nice guy? On several occations he helped me fix a bike, or a moped, or whatever crazy thing me and my friends andor his grandsons would try to make. He could build anything, and even had a self-propelled bikeskooter thing he designed at one point. We loved that thing!
I live in syracuse NY now, and I’m so sad to know that Jack has moved on. To his family, my love and condolences. Jack is immortal due to our great memories of him.
Jack–I just learned of your mom’s passing and saw that your dad passed in 2013. May God Bless them and your family. I have fond memories of them both, as I spent a lot of time at your home on Bird Street when we were growing up. —Kenny Allen (MHR 56-62)
