John Samuel Panvini, 91, of Palm Harbor, FL, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Coral Oaks ALF in Palm Harbor, FL. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, and moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1977 from Philadelphia.

He served his nation in the US Army during World War II. He worked for the US Navy for 36 years and ended up as a Department of Logistics and Support. John was an exceptional athlete, especially in football and basketball.  He was on the Army teams in the war and traveled to Edmonton Alberta , where he met his future wife, Edythe, and Alaska.  When he was recalled to the United States, she traveled to Philadelphia and became a war bride and American citizen.

John loved to take cruises and bus trips with his wife of 64 years, Edythe. He was always generous and liked gambling and poking fun at people. He enjoyed music, both listening and singing, and loved dancing with his wife. He especially loved the socials and Wii bowling at Coral Oaks. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paolo and Sebastiana Panvini; his wife, Edythe; and their daughter, Mildred. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Verla McColm; her daughter, Lynn Turner and many friends.
