Johnny Wade Cox, 59, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at home under the care of Suncoast Hospice after a long illness.
John was born at Butte, Montana in 1952 where he spent his childhood years. He was an US Army of Vietnam. In 1971 he married Judy Schinault and moved to the Pinellas County area in Florida where they had two daughters. John's life revolved around Judy they were very much in love and had recently celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary even though he was very ill he managed to go to the Texas Cattle Company one more time.
John ran his own paint business, Gulf Breeze Painting, for many years and had many satisfied customers. His work was outstanding and he took pride in his achievements. John's love of redhot fireball candy was well known and he requested them right up to the day he passed away. We nicknamed him Johnny "Fireball" Cox .
John will be sadly missed by his family and friends who will never forget his funny sayings and mannerisms.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at The White Chapel with Pastor Howard H. Drewitz. 1190 Georgia Avenue, Palm Harbor, FL 34683. Interment will follow with military honors presented by the Spring Hill Marine Corps League Detatchment #708 at 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.

Dear Judy; Both you and John have been wonderful neighbors and friends. We will very miss John, his jovial nature and our many spontaneous garage gatherings at your home. Words are inadequate at a time like this. There are simply pieces of sorrow that only God can touch. My thoughts are with you and your family. Love your neighbors, Lorrie and Richard

Judy,
We are so sorry for your loss.
I am sorry we never had the chance to meet John in person although we spoke on the phone and on face time many times. John was a lovely man, very funny (always making a joke – especially the way he said tra-la, tra-la to us) and we feel like we have always known you. He was a fighter until the end and will leave a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
I know that mum & dad are thankful and proud to have made such great friends as you and John and there are no words to explain how much they will miss him. He will remain alive in all our memories.
I know that this is going to be a hard time for you but even though we live so far away we are all here for you and to share the wonderful memories of John.
Take care, god bless and tra-la.
Nicky, Shaun, Dylan and Molly

Judy,
I am so sorry for your loss. John was fun to be around and always had something witty to say. One of the things Angela and I looked forward to when we visted Rick was visiting with you and John….always a good time. He always made sure to acknowledge Bobby and Bubbsa spending time with them providing his knowledge. A true indication of how good he was with all his friends young and old. We will surely miss him. God bless you Judy.
