Joseph Tyler Lassiter was born on April 27, 1926 in Ahoskie, North Carolina to the late Joseph and Eula Mae Lassiter. On January 20, 2008 he departed this life in Tampa, Florida due to a long illness.

Keep you head up Family! I know it’s easier said than done but know that God is still God and He has not left nor forsaken you! Nana is also struggling with this but it helps her to know that Uncle JT is not in any more pain. I love you and please call if you need me.

Uncle J.T. was always jovial and playful whenever I had the pleasure to spend time with him. He came to see my father, his brother, Ralph, in Newport News, Virginia, in May of 2003. Dad was very ill. That visit was the best thing that could have happened to my Dad, as they reminisced and enjoyed each other’s company for hours. Dad passed away in July of the same year. I will remember Uncle J.T. with love, and it is my prayer that God blesses his soul. I pray that his devoted wife, his loving children and family will have beautiful memories of times with him, that will give them comfort and peace.
