Veterans Funeral Care Kathleen Butler

Kathleen Sue Butler, 65, of Pinellas Park, FL died Wednesday, March 20, 2014 at her home.

Kathy was born October 10, 1948 in Muskegon, MI to Carl and Eleanor Butler. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in sports education. Later on she completed her Master’s degree. She worked for the Pinellas County School System as a P.E. teacher, and later as a guidance counselor until she retired from Largo High School in 2003.

Kathy was a talented athlete who had an undeniable passion and enthusiasm for sports. She was a talented golfer and spent much of her free time playing with friends and competing in tournaments. Kathy was also a devoted and active member of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks in Largo.  She faithfully attended weekly services and Bible studies while showing her love of God and others through tithing and donations. Kathy will be fondly missed and remembered as a kindhearted and thoughtful woman. She transformed and touched countless lives not only as a guidance counselor, but also as a friend. She was a true woman of God in every sense and it showed through all aspects of her life. Kathy will always be remembered for her fierce love of God, family and friends.

She was a loving sister to Jack Butler, caring aunt to Jennifer Butler, Courtney Berry and Brittany Buis, and doting great-aunt to Bryson Berry and Evelyn Buis. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

This is a bittersweet time as Kathy is now in the arms of the Lord, but will be greatly missed by family and friends. Thank you for coming to the memorial service of this unforgettable woman!

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church at Indian Rocks with Rev. Jim Black officiating.  http://www.indianrocks.org/

In her Bible you’ll find two scriptures highlighted from Jeremiah that truly exemplify how she lived her life.

Jeremiah 29:11-13
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 33:3
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
