Kenneth R. Wilson, 66 died January 4, 2011. Funeral services are 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Clearwater 1st Nazarene Church, 1875 Nursery Road, Clearwater, FL 33764 with Pastor Pat Glenn, to officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 AM, until service time. Full military honors and graveside services are 2:30 PM, Tuesday afternoon, January 12, 2011 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513 with the United States Air Force Honor Guard from Mac Dill AFB, Tampa, FL officiating.
A local resident since 1998, when Kenneth moved here from Jacksonville, FL. He was a retired S/SGT and during his career he served as a Communications Programs/Requirements and Resources Management Technician. S/SGT Wilson was awarded USAF Expert Marksman Medal; USAF Longevity Service Ribbon with Four Oak Leaf Clusters; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; USAF Outstanding Unit Award; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and USAF Good Conduct Medal with Five Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and a member of the Masonic Lodge (F & AM).
Kenneth is survived by his loving family; his wife, Patricia of Clearwater, FL; two sons: Dr. Kenneth Wilson II and his wife, Wendy Marie of Allen, Texas and Richard Kenneth Wilson and his wife, Wendy of Clearwater, FL; his two daughters: Marie Thomas of Fairfax, VA and Susan Johns and her husband, Samuel of Land Key, England; a sister, Kathy Mayhugh of Jacksonville, FL and his grandchildren: David Hunter Wilson, Kenneth “Trey” Richard Wilson III and Elijah Wilson.

Ken was a great man and will be missed by many. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
I will never forget Ken and his wonderful smile! I am very honored to have known Ken and his family. My heart goes out to his family. I can still hear him saying “Their is my Grandson!” When he would come and pick up David from school. Ken is truely a wonderful man a great father an amazing husband and the best grandfather a kid could ever want! Please Pat and Richard if there is anything you need please see me at school!

I miss my Grandpa Ken very much. He is missed greatly.
Hello, I grew up with Kenny, he loved our family very much, we always felt he was part of us. When he joined the Air Force, and met his wife I was thrilled for him. He kept in touch through the years, and every now and then I came home to visit my mother, and Kenny, was part of that time. I helped him out during his return from Vietnam Nam, as most all our men in combat experience post war trauma. I know personally how much he loved his wife Pat, how hard she worked for the family and when he gave her a Rolex watch he was so proud doing that for her, as he put it, “She deserves it because she works very hard for our family.”
He was so proud of his son becoming a doctor and named after him, his chest swelled, his eyes twinkled he loved you so much. He warmly talked of his daughter, I left sometimes ago incase there were other children born, I am uncertain.
As for his grandchildren, there was always a huge smile that came through the phone he was filled with much delight because you were born. He was the kid on the block who had it all the day he met your Grandmother.
I have been too busy, these five past years, and noticed, we hadn’t been in touch since finding out he had Thyroid surgery at the same time I had the surgery, we were not surprised to find that out, this happens to some close people as time marches on.
I wanted to let each of you know how much we i.e. our family loved him very much, he was the sweetest guy I have ever known, he had a silent strength that kept him focused, loving all he met, he had integrity, love, and above where he is at he can see each of you and knows what you are doing. The good part is you will see him again, he is not gone away forever on the contrary he is there there is no such thing as death to the spirit, Christ has told us we shall rise and meet Him in the clouds so talk to him, and let him know you’ll see him again and hold his hand It’s biblical. Dearest Pat, when you look at your watch, remember what I told you, he loved you much.
God bless, you family, that’s temporarily left behind, you will see him again, Jesus the Christ promised all who believe in Him.
I hope this reaches your hearts, and lets you know how much he talked about his loving family, because he did, I made it clear and encouraged him on. . .he is also loved deeply.
