Kevin Michael Clifford-LT COL.-USMC-Retired of St Petersburg, FL died at Bay Pines VA Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida on January 29, 2013 from natural causes. His funeral was 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida 33744 with the United States Marine Corps providing full military honor and burial at the cemetery.
A native of Chicago, IL and a local resident since 2003, when he moved here from Pierce City, Missouri, he was a Ground Supply Officer for the United States Marine Corps and was awarded a National Defense Medal with Star; Navy Commendation Medal; Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Humanitarian Service Medal; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; and served during the Gulf War and retiring in February 2004.
He was a avid golfer and volunteered with Veterans Service Groups.
He is survived by his companion, Nancy Murphy of St Petersburg, FL; two brothers, Terence Clifford of Mokena, IL and Leo Clifford of Chicago, IL; a sister, Joanie Kubilis of Powers Grove, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Deeply saddened to hear of Kevin’s passing. We served together on the staff of 31st Marine Amphibious Unit and on the staff of the Basic School in the early 80’s. He was a great professional and a loyal friend. Very sorry to have missed his funeral.
