Klaus Doering


Klaus “Sandy” Doering, 70, of Clearwater, FL passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home.

Klaus was born June 6, 1944 in Germany to Werner and Sophie Doering.  In 1951 his family moved to New York and in 1963 he enlisted in the US Air Force as a ground support equipment mechanic. He served during the Vietnam War in Thailand until being honorably discharged as a Staff Sargent in 1970.

Klaus was a true pioneer to the pool industry. As owner of Coral Pools, he began building pools in 1974. He continued maintaining them until his son-in-law, Bill, took over in 2012. He was also active in many pool industry associations.

Klaus is survived by his six children, Hollie (Jeff) Parker, Ted (Liz) Doering, Casey (George) Newman, Tim (Danielle) Doering, Dan (Missy) Doering, and Abbi (Bill) Reeves; two sisters, Claudia (John) Wittenberg, and Christine (Tony) Doering; and ten grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.

A Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park – Peacefield Mausoleum, 2860 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater 33759.
