Larry “Butch” Arnold Kuhnast, 62, of Plant City, FL, loving father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2010, under the care of hospice from cancer.
Larry was born in Tampa, FL on May 18, 1947. Upon graduating from Chamberlain High School, he joined the United States Army. He served his beloved country from 1968 to 1972 as a cook. He had served in the Vietnam War.
He had recently retired from the United States Postal Service as a postal carrier and was looking forward to spending time with his first grandchild recently born.
He had a special quote he always said to his daughter. "Death is the price we pay for the gift of life." He will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Wendy Kuhnast of Plant City, FL; his loving granddaughter, Avery Rozados of Plant City, FL; two sisters, Candy Pert and Sharon Smalley; and a brother, Richard Kuhnast.
Military honors will be held Friday, January 15, at 1:30 p.m. from Florida National Cemetery.

WE KNEW FOR A FEW YEARS AS OUR LETTER CARRIER AT OUR BUSINESS HE ALLWAYS HAD SOMETHING HUMOROUS TO SAY ABOUT LIFE IN GENERAL HE WILL ALSO BE MISSED BY OUR DOG BECAUSE EVERDAY HE BROUGHT A TREAT TO HIM TO WHICH IS WHY WE KNOW THAT LARRY WAS A FRIEND TO EVERYONE. HE WILL BE MISSED BY ALL OF US AT CHECKPOINT.HIS FAMILY WILL BE IN OUR PRAYERS.

I grew up with larry in North Tampa and also went to school with him. In later years he also delivered mail to my dad in the old neighborhood.Our entire family wishes to extend our sympathy for your loss. May Larry now rest in peace.
I worked with Larry at Forest Hills Station, he was a great person and a great cook. I will miss Larry’s generousity and his compassion. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family. God Bless, and may he rest in peace.
Uncle Butch as I knew him was a man full of life. You really never knew what to expect from him be it telling you your first dirty joke or the more personal moments confiding in you his most heartfelt feelings. He was truly a wonderful man. I will miss you!
