Katie, what I know of your father is that he raised a beautiful daughter with such a happy soul and loving nature. For that alone, he should be awarded the “Great Gift to Humankind Award”. You and yours are in my heart.

It was such an honor to know Larry and work with him. I’ll always remember his smile and our talks about “Survivor” and baseball at the water cooler.
So many of our lives were enriched from knowing Larry. I feel especially fortunate to have had the opportunity to share his interest in golf and baseball. A good man is gone too soon, and I for one am glad to have had the chance for experiences that will always provide good memories of him. Thank you to his family for sharing him with us all these years.
Larry exemplified the personification of courage, grace, mortality, and humility in his last chapter of a life that touched many.
All of us are better people for sharing the living moments with Larry and his family and may his memory always be a cherished one.
Sincerely and with much sympathy,

Sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. As a fellow classmate and 2 tour ’Nam vet I hate saying farewell to a brother. May God bring you all peace and comfort in your loss…
Larry Halstead was one of most stand-up guys I will ever know. He was strong in his convictions and never backed down from anything if he thought he was right. He was also a devout Tampa Bay Rays fan and I always enjoyed sharing his season-ticket seats behind the first-base dugout. Now he holds the best seat in the house. Rest well, my friend, and thanks for everything.
My deepest sympathy…Class of 66…

I met Larry when I was running the Florida Writers Association in St Pete. I wanted to let the writers in the area know what we were doing. Larry was kind and helpful on the phone and quite the gentleman in person. I appreciate all he did to help me publicize our meetings. I did not know him well but liked him from the start. I appreciate having met him. My thought go out to his family.
Jere, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We will miss seeing Larry this winter but hope to see you at the Super Bowl party. Chuck and Judy
Wow! I don’t know really where to start…Larry was my best friend. Though, I haven’t seen him as often(I moved to Citrus County) as I
would like. I knew he would always be there for me, if there was ever anything I needed. I owe so much to him, Larry has had such a positive influence on my life. We worked together for almost 20 years at Baseball Blue Book. Traveled together to numerous World Series games…let me tell you…Larry was very well know in the baseball world, I was lucky enough to be his friend and experience so much because of Larry.
Leesa, Katie & Ryan:

I knew Larry in high school and just became a facebook friend. So sorry to hear he passed so soon. I know he will be missed. RIP Larry.
We first met and worked with Larry over 30 years ago, when we were with the National Association (Minor League Baseball) office and he was taking over the operation of the Blue Book from his dad. We also bowled with Larry in a league every week. He was a great guy and we are filled with regret that we did not keep in closer touch over the years. We are sure that you are proud of your husband, father and grandfather. He was a true American Hero in every sense of the word!
It was a privilige to know Larry in High School. You have made us proud of you and your life. May you take that same spirit with you to heavan.
I was just informed about Larry today Monday 11152010. I can not say how sad I feel. I worked for Larry for a number of years, and loved him dearly as a boss and a friend.
My condolences to the entire family…and especially to Katie, Leesa and Ryan, who I watched grow into their teens.
