Laurence Glenn “Larry” Morris, 66, of Jacksonville, FL died of natural causes at the Acosta Rua Center Community Hospice, Jacksonville on April 12, 2009.
His services are 11:00 AM, Monday, April 20, 2009 at the First Coast Baptist Church, 7587 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32244 with Reverend Richard Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 AM until service time. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery with the United States Air Force Military Honors Team.
Born in Akron, OH, reared in Van Nuys, California, and a local resident twice since 1978, Larry worked for 35 years with Lockheed Martin as an Avionics Field Representative. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and attended First Coast Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Henrietta Morris and a brother, Keith Morris. Larry is survived by his loving family: his wife, Anita Delgado-Morris; five sons, Glenn L. Morris and his wife, Barbara of Denver, NC; Lawrence Johnson and his wife, Debra of Jacksonville; Lt. Col Matthew Johnson and his wife, Dawn of Green Cove Springs, FL; Eric Michael Johnson and his wife, Kava of Jacksonville, and Charlie Johnson III and his wife, Jetaime of Evans City, PA; two daughters, Cassandra Turnbull of Spanaway, WA and Gina Urban of Jacksonville; two brothers, Lloyd Morris and his wife, Brenda of Mission Hills, CA and Kenneth Morris and his wife, Patty of San Jose, CA; four grandchildren: Christina Lassanske, Kyle Lassanske, Joshua Turnbull, Orion Turnbull; numerous step grandchildren and one great grandson, Elias Lassanske.
