Grandpa was one of the funniest people I ever knew. He always knew how to make you laugh with his funny remarks, ethnically disapproved comments, and great stories. He was also extremely generous and you always had to be careful of saying you liked something or you would end up with it when you left. He was a lover of all things related to fishing, but more importantly of the great time he spent with us while doing so. I am going to miss him terribly and he will be forever in my heart, head, and soul. I love you grandpa!
Wow. I don’t even know where to start because every word cuts like a knife and leans towards goodbye. Grandpa was truly one in a million. His laughter and smile lit up the room whenever he was around. He was definately one of the funniest people I ever met. He reminded me of my grandfather: generous, kind hearted, and loving. Although I could go on all day about grandpa and his endless qualities that made him the amazing man that he was. He is a hero to me, to our country, and to his family. I am going to miss his laugh and even him scaring me outside the window when he drove all the way to NY to surprise everyone. Everytime I see a body of water, a boat, or something pertaining to fishing my mind is forever going to think of him. I will miss you terribly grandpa, i love you.
From Kayla:
Hiiii grandpa :) I love you and miss you. i will miss your jokes. love kayla rose deveglio
In life we loved you dearly,in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
My father in-law was such a special man whom I loved to spend time with him. He would always make me laugh and he always showed me that he loved me. I enjoyed doing things for him because he appreciated it so much! He especially loved when I would make him a meal that he enjoyed and always made a point to call, almost daily, and would ask what I was cooking that day. There will not be a day that will pass that I will not miss him terribly.
With great sadness, I say goodbye
His loving daughter in-law
Brenda
I don’t know were to start. I do know one thing, he sure was LUCKY when it came to Pat, she sure looked out for him and was always there for him no matter what. I THANK HER AND LOVE HER WITH ALL MY HEART FOR WHAT SHE DID FOR US. I ALWAYS KNEW HE WAS SAFE IN HER HANDS. Pop was the best, every time I cast a line, work around my house, camp, play with Kayla,I will remember him. I will remember all the great times we had together. All the daily phone calls about what was cooking and when I told him what Brenda was making, he said he was always in the wrong place at the wrong time. I thank him for all he’s taught me and all time we spent together. I will miss him dearly. I know there is an awful lot more that I can say but there are no more words to express my feelings.
Love you Pop!
Your loving son Larry
pop was the best… he always had a way to make you laugh, hearing him whistle outside my window instead of knocking on the door to tell us he was there was always one of my favorite things he did…i feel like im always gonna be expecting him to whistle out my window again one day…ill miss everything about my grandpa and all the years of love he gave my brothers and i. he taught us all so much and i know there is a special place in heaven just for him. this is a man that will truly be missed.
Love you pop! your grandson, best bud and fishing partner.
Matt DeVeglio.
Just found out – my sympathies to the family. My Mom passed right around the same time (8262010), in Florida, too (Boca Raton). She was 88.
