Lenett was born on July 22, 1925 in Limon, Costa Rica, and later her family moved to Panama. She departed this world on December 17, 2010. She was the daughter of Harold and Lenora Pritchard. She moved to the U.S. in the early fifties and married the late George Edward Moore. Lenett and George lived in Harlem, New York where they raised their two sons, Stan and Larry. In the late Sixties they moved to the upper Bronx with Lenett’s sister, Hazel, and her daughter Ledda.
Lenett was a tremendously warm and fun loving person with a hearty laugh, a warm smile, and an outgoing personality. Family meant the world to her, and holidays were always a special time in her life. She was also a true and dedicated fan of the New York Mets baseball team. Over the years She and her late husband George spent many fun-filled hours rooting for their team together on the television and sometimes they visited Shea Stadium. Lenett was a very hard worker and was noted on several occasions for outstanding work performance during her career. She went on to retire as an Administrative Assistant from the City of New York’s Worker’s Compensation Board.
After her retirement she moved to Woodbridge Virginia where her son Stan and his family could keep an eye on her and help keep her out of trouble. Lenett was a deeply devout Roman Catholic and relied on her faith to sustain her and guide her throughout her life. Much of her retirement years involved church related activities with groups such as the Legion of Mary where she engaged in missionary and Catholic outreach projects. Another favorite church activity was her fun loving and energetic craft group at Holy Family where she had many close friends that gave her a strong sense of belonging, love, and warmth, and they helped to give her a feeling of purpose and usefulness in her retirement years.
She was so very full of Life and energy, and she was always on the go. She had a loving and caring heart, and gladly gave much of her free time and energy to helping others.
Lenett was 85 years old at the time of her death. During the last year or so of her life she resided at Sheridan Place Assisted Living facility in Dublin, GA near her son Dr. Larry A. Moore, Ed.D and his wife, Jane, who was constantly near her side. Lenett has been called home to be with the Lord. Be certain that if heaven has a baseball team Lenett will be watching, and knowing her she might even be on one of the teams.
Lenett is survived by her two sons, Stan and Larry Moore, and their wives Elaine and Jane respectively; her inseparable and forever bonded twin brother, Lyndon Pritchard and his wife Lydia; five grandchildren: Omey, Brandon, Michael, Andrew, and Terrance; niece Ledda and her husband Reverend Bertram Bennett, niece Ivette and her husband Rodolfo Franklin; niece Lysett and her husband Kenneth Reeves; Nephew Claudio Pritchard; Niece Estella and her husband Ernesto Fields; and nieces Rosalia Beckett, and Joyce Eccleston; and a host of other grand nieces and nephews, and numerous other friends and relatives.
