Leo Shear (Stoogie) passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on March 23, 2009. He was born on March 2, 1914 in Dayton, OH and lived in Cleveland, OH before moving to Lakeland, FL in 1971.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army from 1941 thru 1944. Mr. Shear was a active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia (Sissy) Shear. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Shirley, twin children, Bob (Gina) Shear of Concord, OH; Bobbi Shear of Lakeland, FL; daughter by marriage, Dianne (Brad) Dent and son, Robert Wallace (Judy, deceased); 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 11:00 AM until his funeral service begins at Noon. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to Good Sheppard Hospice, Lakeland.

I was certainly saddened to see of Leo’s passing, but at 95, I know that he had a great life. To Shirley and Bobbi, I know that you have lost a loving husband and father, but you have many memories to cherish, and Leo has gone to a better place. God bless you and your family.
