Loretta “Lori” Pauline Sloan, 74, of Clearwater, FL passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 while visiting her family in Massillon, Ohio.
Born in Worcester, MA she moved here from Rome, NY in 1974. She was an active member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church in Safety Harbor, FL and she was known as a baker. She had a strong work ethic and she was active in the daily lives of her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, camping and family vacations. She often liked to tend her garden and go to the movies.
She was a military wife and was preceded in death by her husband in of 43 years in 2008, SSGT Edward A. Sloan, USAF Ret.; brother, Dona Paradis; and sister, Mary Earley. Survivors include her two daughters, Dorothy “Dotty” (Chuck) Kearns and Teresa “Terry” Sloan; brother Kenneth Paradis; two granddaughters, Sloan E. and Hailey E. Kearns; and niece Linda Earley.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church with Father Len Piotrowski. The family will greet friends one hour prior. Dear Dotty, Chuck and family, We were so sorry to hear of Lori’s passing. We really enjoyed our visits with her as well when we got to come and visit you all. I am sure she is happy in the arms of the Lord and to be with her loving husband and family that have passed on. All our love and sympathies to you.
