Rev. Luis Seda, 88, of Clearwater, passed away to heaven on May 4, 2012. He was born in Manati, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Luisa Sanchez and the late Eulogio Seda. He was the husband of Maria Seda with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.
He was an ordained minister of the Church of God, Mission Board. He was the founder and minister of three churches: two in Brooklyn, NY, and one in Bayamon, PR, from 1962 to 1982. He held a Bachelor’s of Theology from the InterAmerican Bible College in St. Just, Puerto Rico. He also received a Certificate as an Advanced Teacher from the InterAmerican Bible College and also served as a theology instructor at that college in 1982. He was a graduate of the Manhattan School of Printing in New York City, NY, Central Business College in Santurce, PR, and the Arca Evangelica Bible Institute in Brooklyn, NY. He worked as an office clerk at the Missionary Dept. of the World Council of Churches of the United Methodist Church, at the Cinefot International Corp, and Farell Lines, Inc., all in New York City. He was also a salesman at the Bayamon Iron Works in Bayamon, PR. He served in the US Army in the American Theater during WWII as a clerk typist and a Military Police. He was also stationed in Trinidad. He was awarded the American Theater Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and two overseas service bars.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Seda; a daughter, Rachel Seda Cruz wife of Domilio Cruz; and four sons: Luis Seda,Jr., husband of Rebecca Seda, Dr. E. Elliott Seda, husband of Rhonda Miller-Seda, Special Agent David Seda, husband of Grace Seda, and Rev. Esdras Seda, husband of Eva Seda; eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
On May 8, 2012, private visitation for the immediate family will take place from 9:30-10:00 a.m., followed by viewing and visitation for friends and family between 10-11 a.m. at Primera Iglesia Metodista Unida Verdad Y Vida, 15703 61st St. N. Clearwater. Funeral services will be held at the church from 11-12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with military honors presented by the Marion County Memorial Honor Guard.

My heart breaks at the though of losing you but at the same time leaps for joy in knowing where you are now, worship the Almighty whom you served faithfully with your whole heart. You are throwing the beautiful jeweled crown you’ve earned at His feet in worship! Abuelito, dance before Him for me, sing to Him for me, worship Him unabandoned for me until the day we all will join you in one accord to worship our Lord and savior that we adore in person.
