Manuel C. Espinosa, 90, of Clearwater, FL funeral mass is 10:30 AM, Friday, September 20, 2013 at St Cecelia Catholic Church, 920 Jasmine Way, Clearwater, FL 33756. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 AM until service time. Monsignor Pat Irwin, will officiate. Graveside service will be at 1:30 PM, Friday, September 20, 2013 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida with full military honors by the Marion County Honor Guard and Deacon Bryon Otricovec, to officiate. SGTMAJOR David Mallory –US Army-Retired will play taps and present the flag to the family.
A native of Raisin City, California and a local area resident, he was a retired metal finisher for General Motors Corporation; a member of St Teresa Catholic Church in Spring Hill, Florida; a member of the Moose Lodge; VFW; American Legion; a US Army Veteran of World War II; Corporal TEC 5; a half-track driver; expert rifleman for reconnaissance company 648th tank destroyers battalion and was awarded a American Theater Ribbon; European African Middle Eastern Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal.
He was born on June 29, 1923 in Raisin City, California and passed away on September 16, 2013 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Florida. Predeceased by his parents, Alfonso and Rita (Cruz) Espinosa, Manuel is survived by his loving family: his wife, Graciela Espinosa of Florida; his sons: Manuel Espinosa Jr. and his wife, Debra of Florida; Diego Espinosa of Florida and Ricardo Espinosa and his wife, Jennifer of Georgia: his daughter; Mary Ellen Espinosa of Florida: a brother, Alfredo Espinosa of California: three sisters; Frances Espinosa of California; Alicia Najera and her husband, Tano of California and Belen Poincot and her husband, Lloyd of Louisiana; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren & one on the way.
