Marilyn M. Russell Gagnon (Rusty) passed away peacefully in her sleep, on July 14, 2009 at Marion House Health Care in Ocala, FL.

She was born April 4, 1927, in Skowhegan, Maine. She was the daughter of Roland and Hildred Russell. She grew up in the Skowhegan area and was an LPN for 40 years retiring in 1974. She worked at the old sanatorium in Fairfield, Maine, Augusta General in Augusta, Maine, and Augusta Convalescent Center in Augusta, Maine. She was married to Edward T. Gagnon in 1953. Eventually moving to the Riverside Vassalboro area, where they raised their family. They owned and operated Gagnon Antique & Used Furniture for many years. In 1999, they relocated to Ocala, Florida. One of her favorite pastimes while in Maine and continued to Florida was Bingo.

Rusty was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Edward of 48 years, and her son Roland Gagnon. She is survived by, her 2 daughters and a step daughter. Nancy Wade and her husband Peter, of Ocala, FL, Cindy Staude of Silver Springs Shores, FL, and step daughter Linda Hawn and husband Eldon of Anchorage, Alaska, and daughter in-law Patricia Gagnon; two sisters, Mildred Stott, Zephyrhills, FL and Joyce Winegardner, Smithfield, ME. Also 13 grandchildren: Thomas Wade and wife Donna, Timothy Wade, Peter Wade, Mary Allain, Lisa Robles, Robin Gagnon, Jeffery George and wife Shannon, Scott George, Brandon George, Shane George and fiance Trisha Ware, Gary Hawn and wife Dianna, Kathy Hawn, and Wayne Hawn and wife Lousia, 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to Thank Marion House of Ocala, and Hospice of Marion County, for the loving care they provided to our Mother during these trying times.

Burial will be at Union Cemetery, in Vassalboro, Maine, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marilyn M. Gagnon to Hospice of Marion County, Florida.
