Mary Brigida Vieira Gotshall of Dunedin, FL, formerly of Naugatuck, Connecticut, died February 10, 2014. She was born in Naugatuck, CT, May 7, 1920 to Apolonia & Manuel Pinho. Mary was raised and educated in Portugal and married Camilo Vieira in 1943. They had two children, Camilo & Linda Vieira. Camilo preceded her in death in 1969. She married Ralph Gotshall in 1976.
Mary Vieira Gotshall was employed by Uniroyal and was very involved in the Naugatuck Portuguese Club and was one of the founders of the Ladies Auxiliary as well as its first President. She was politically active in both State and Local politics in helping candidates promote themselves in the Portuguese community.
She loved to cook for the family. She cherished and leaves behind her children, Camilo (and his wife Mary), daughter, Linda (and husband John Young) and grandchildren, Selena (Rich Casey), and Cristina (Liam Abramson) & Jeremy & Jessie Young as well as great-grand children Cameron & Jotham Casey and Lior Abramson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Community Room at The Inn on the Pond, 2010 Greenbriar Blvd, Clearwater, FL, on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 1PM.
