Mary Jane (Sojka) Everett, 81, passed away on March 20, 2011 at Largo Medical Center.

Mrs. Everett was a resident of Florida since 1979. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Everett of Largo, Florida and her children, Edward (Lorraine) Sojka of Tinley Park, Illinois, Richard (Kathleen) Sojka of Valparaiso, Indiana, Mary Jo Havlick of Worth, Illinois, Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Sojka of Chicago, Illinois, and Timothy (Diane) Sojka of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Rick (Triny), Michael (Autumn), Jennifer, Regina, Jeffrey, and James Sojka and Kimberly, Michelle, and Roger Havlick, and seven great grandchildren: Savannah, Zander, Nadia, Owen, Ryan, Avery, and Shane. 

Mary Jane was born and raised her family in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward M. Sojka in 1973.  Mary Jane was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Largo.

Mary Jane will be remembered for her devotion to her family.  She shared a love of sports with her sons and traveled north often to see her grandchildren play baseball and football.  She was especially fond of her great-grandchildren and took great joy in visiting them and receiving photos which she placed where she could see them everyday.  Mary Jane enjoyed life, playing bingo, visiting her favorite casinos, and the beach.  She tried all the rides at Great America with her grandchildren and parasailed while on vacation.  She will be greatly missed by her family and leaves nothing but fond memories.

A memorial mass was held in Chicago on April 15 at 11:00 AM at St. Rita of Cascia Chapel, 7740 South Western Avenue. Visitation with the family at the chapel at 10:00 AM.  Internment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Evergreen Park, Illinois.
