Bierman, Maryo C., 81, of Largo, FL, formerly of Sun City Center, FL, died February 10, 2013 at Heron House of Indian Rocks.
Born in San Angelo, TX, she moved to Sun City Center from Anchorage, AK in 1992 where she retired as a school teacher and reading specialist after 25 years. She was a graduate of the Univ. of TX and earned a Master’s degree in Special Education from Univ. of Alaska. She was a member of Sun City Center Presbyterian Church and Tradewinds Presbyterian Church in So. Pasadena, FL and she attended First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Red Hat Society, the Republican Party, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed art, painting, traveling, and gardening.
Maryo was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Casper S. Bierman, USAF, Ret. and her sister, Joanne Johnston. Survivors include her two daughters, Deborah Harlan of Bakersfield, CA and Diane Riggleman of Seminole, FL; son, John of Seminole; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 9:00 AM on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, 12685 Ulmerton Road, Largo 33774 followed by services at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia.

The Sun City Center Chapter of the Military Officers Association of Americal has noted the passing of our long-time Auxiliary member, Maryo C. Bierman. We extend our sincere condolences to her family. Personally, we enjoyed her company at our several meetings for bridge and dinner. We have missed her since she left our midst here in Sun City Center and mourn her passing. Ed and Naomi Socha.
I was sorry to receive the news that your mother had passed away. I remember her very fondly and have happy memories from the years she lived across the street from us in Tampa.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. We did not know your Mother personally however our daughter Norma was one of her caregivers so we had heard wonderful stories regarding what a special lady she was. We met John and Stacy at church when we were down last year. My God be with you during this time.
