The Life of Melvin Douglas Wright
Melvin Douglas Wright was born in New York, New York on November 26, 1958, to Mrs. Maggie Mae Ivery-Wright and the late Marion Melvin Wright. He attended Richmond Hill High School in Queens, NY . He served in the US Air Force in 1977.
Melvin married Naomi Stewart-Wright on July 25, 1981, From this union they had two children, Melvin Wright & Cherise Nyobi Wright . In July 1987 he moved to St. Petersburg, Fl. and worked jobs as Manager. Melvin continued his love of basketball and various sports. Later in life he met Jackie Williams -Lovett and had a son named Maurice Wright.
On the morning of April 12, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fl. He departed from this life to his final resting place with the Lord.
He leaves to cherish his memory: His mother Maggie Wright, His three brothers, Marvin Dale Wright, Timothy Wright, Thurston Wright, His wife Naomi Wright, three children, Melvin, Cherise and Maurice Wright, Grandson Jordan Malik Wright, Godmother Hattie Jenkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
My dear cousin will be greatly missed, he had a beautiful goig home ceremony, I presided over his ceremony and was more than happy to do it.
