Malone, Michael L., 67, of Tazewell, TN since 2002, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL.
Born in Columbus, OH Michael moved here from New Rochelle, NY in 1969. He was a navy veteran of Vietnam serving as a jet mechanic. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired as a Letter Carrier with the US Postal Service and he was an officer with the DAV, Tazewell Post. He enjoyed fishing, college sports, reading his Bible and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his son, David and daughter, Sarah Malone, both of St. Petersburg; brother, Sheridan; and three sisters, Caroline, Monica, and Christina Malone.
A service with honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #273 at 2:15 PM on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard, Bay Pines 33744.
