Mildred Elva Wilhite Burchett, age 90, of Largo, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Pinellas Park, FL http://thehospice.org.
Mildred was born on September 2, 1923 to Judson “Ted” Wilhite and Ostra Dale Casto Wilhite in Odell, AR. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Philo, OH where she graduated from Philo High School in 1941. She worked as a Riveter during World War II in Dayton, OH, since she was tiny enough to fit in small spaces inside the planes. On June 22, 1943 she married the love of her life, Arthur Nelson Burchett and they lived in Zanesville, OH until they moved to Jackson County, WV in 1958 and then to Largo, Florida in 1997.
Mildred loved her family as her husband, six children and grandchildren meant everything to her. She enjoyed everyone being together. She was an amazing seamstress and a “shop until you drop” shopper. She enjoyed ceramics, painting, reading, gardening, crocheting, crossword puzzles, gossip magazines, Court TV and Dr. Phil. She was a strong, amazing and loving woman who will be missed deeply by her family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Loren “Pete” Wilhite, Largo, FL; two sisters, Betty Wilhite Quinn, Columbus, OH and Genia Wilhite Donnelly, Long Beach, CA; two sons, Rodney Burchett of Arden, NC and Douglas Burchett of Colombia, SC; two daughters, Rebecca McCue of Belpre, OH and Denise Poling of Largo, FL; ten grandchildren: Paula Bradley, NC, Matthew Burchett, NC, Sidney Wetherall, FL, Tina Baldwin, WV, Heather Burchett, MA, Stephanie Burchett, SC, Gary McCue, WV, Russell McCue, NC, Sida Hyde, FL and Erica Poling, FL; 22 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Nelson Burchett; parents Judson “Ted” Wilhite and Ostra Dale Casto Wilhite; brothers, Farris and Cleo Wilhite; a son, Stephan Burchett; a daughter, Susan Burchett Wetherall; and grandson, Craig Burchett.
Mildred will be laid to rest with her husband at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL.

Mom,
I forgot to include what a Tennis fan you were.
Missing you.
Grandma I could write an entire book about you and all of your adventures. I am happy you are with Grandpa and everyone else who has passed. I will miss you though….alot! You were my best friend. I am blessed to have been able to help you and spend all the time we have together. We had great times, sad times, funny times and our little spats but we never stayed mad. You helped shape me into the person I am and give me strength to become the person I want to be. Thank you for everything. You are such a special lady….I love you always and will see you again. Love Erica Leann
